CONFIDENTIALITY

Strict confidentialty is always maintained and is an essential part of the counselling process. Before your first counselling session begins, the terms of confidentiality will be explained to you. The only circumstances where confidentiality may be breached are when there is any risk of harm to yourself or to anyone else, or where the counsellor is obliged to comply to legal requirements, i.e. fraud or criminal proceedings.

All counsellors are required to have a supervisor who monitors the quality of their work. The process of supervision is conducted in a way that ensures confidentiality
